California has passed a law banning default passwords like such as “admin,” or “123456”
Every new gadget will have to come with “reasonable” security features out of the box. The law calls for each device to come with a preprogrammed password “unique to each device.”
It also indicates that a new device have a security feature that offers the user to generate a new means of authentication before access is granted to the device for the first time.
New Digi XBee gateway products are required to have a unique password to enter the web interface. You will find the Administrator password on the back of the product on the label. Once you enter into the device, it is strongly recommended that you change this password to a new value.
