Using DC supplies to VBAT(VLIO) and VCHRG simultaneously must be avoided. It can damage charger circuit.
Using a power supply as a battery is OK as long as the charging circuit is disabled.
Either modify the assembly such that VBATT > VCHRGE when using a supply, or disable the charging circuit.
