Understanding the legacy AnywhereUSB/5 architecture in the AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility

Why are the legacy AnywhereUSB/5 USB ports split up into two groups, in the AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility?  Which of those ports correspond to the 5 physical USB ports?

The legacy AnywhereUSB/5 has two USB "Host Controllers", which manage the 5 USB ports. One of these Host Controllers manages 2 of the 5 USB ports, while the other manages the remaining 3.
 
More precisely (looking at the front panel of an AnywhereUSB, where the USB ports are numbered 1-5), USB ports 1, 3, and 5 are managed by one Host Controller, and USB ports 2 and 4 are managed by the other Host Controller.
 
The AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility lists these two AnywhereUSB Host Controllers as follows:
 
AnywhereUSB Host Controller (IP address) - 0
 
RootHub
[Port 1]
[Port 2]
[Port 3]
 
AnywhereUSB Host Controller (IP address) - 1
 
RootHub
[Port 1]
[Port 2]
 
Even though the Port numbers are not named "Port1" through "Port5", they still refer to the 5 USB ports of the AnywhereUSB.
 
With that being said, here is the association:
 
AnywhereUSB Host Controller (IP address) - 0 RootHub
 
[Port 1] = AnywhereUSB physical USB Port 1
 
[Port 2] = AnywhereUSB physical USB Port 3
 
[Port 3] = AnywhereUSB physical USB Port 5
 
AnywhereUSB Host Controller (IP address) - 1 RootHub
 
[Port 1] = AnywhereUSB physical USB Port 2
 
[Port 2] = AnywhereUSB physical USB Port 4
