install.sh failing with syntax error or not a valid identifier

When during Digi Embedded Yocto installation, you are running an install.sh script and it fails with:

./install.sh: line 7: syntax error: unexpected word (expecting "in")
or sh ./install.sh: not found: line 4: ': not a valid identifier

you probably did not transfer the install.sh in binary mode but some ASCII translation has modified it.
Just re-download or copy the file using binary transfer mode to fix the problem.

If the problem persists, contact Digi Technical Support and report your download link and error message shown during installation.
