The Device Type (dpDeviceType) field cannot be changed (along with the dvVendorId field) from Remote Manager as it is a manufacturing assigned value which can only be displayed.

With that being said, a value can be assigned at the time of device registration (only if using the DeviceCore API to register); however the device would overwrite it when it actually gets connected.  So it would only be temporary until the device connects.
