This error is due to a bug in some older versions of the AnywhereUSB driver package. When one these older versions are installed on a Server 2008 computer, that error may happen when performing a backup with Symantec Backup Exec software.
Unfortunately, there is no simple workaround or resolution for this issue, other than re-installing the Operating System, or using a different computer for this role.

This bug was fixed in the v3.0 AnywhereUSB driver package, so as long as that version (or any newer version) is INITIALLY installed, this issue should not happen.
